Take a chance

STJ2013 Rebel 042a

If an opportunity presents itself, it may be time to take a chance. Holding back out of fear or finding an excuse to pass is no reason for you to miss out on that opportunity or any other. There are opportunities that are misrepresented or presented with only the outcome of the person who offers them in mind. You must be wary of anything that seems too good to be true because the majority of the time it has some catch or clause that is no benefit to you at all and may even be detrimental. But there are chances that you know in your secret self or in the back of your mind that you really should be taking; they may be a part or all of a goal you’ve been contemplating for a long time; they may be something that resonates with you but that you would never have thought of in normal course of events; they may be something that just sounds fun or enjoyable. Rejecting these kinds of opportunities doesn’t contribute to your well-being and happiness. They will always be ‘the one that got away’ and regret is something you don’t want to welcome into your head or life. Beginning with enthusiasm and wholeheartedly will definitely increase your chances of a positive outcome; you will be starting ahead from the start with an attitude that will not allow for stumbling or failure. Do you welcome the opportunity to take a chance when offered?

I've been struck many times by the thoughts that run through my head when I'm outdoors and contemplating nothing in particular. The thoughts can be profound or silly, sad or joyful, relevant or not. But they're always there. And with just a bit of concentration they can lead to the most astonishing places and on the most convoluted trails. Exploring those vagaries and jigs and jogs is fun. I'm attempting to find more of these trails to see if they lead anywhere or nowhere, because even nowhere is somewhere. The bits and pieces of the outdoors help to make the indoors survivable. Photos help bring the outdoors in and remind me of many of the thoughts I had while still outside, a very valuable tool they are, too.
